Cabañas Tulum is a beachfront hotel on the sandy road that runs south from the ruins, past one small property after another. Arriving there at night means finding a modest entrance among many, which a driver who works this route does quickly. The ride starts at Cancún International Airport, where someone meets you at arrivals with your name on a sign, and continues 118 km south. Give it around 105 minutes. It is a private car, not a shared shuttle, so there are no other hotels on the itinerary and no waiting for the last passenger to appear. Two hours of airport waiting time come with the booking.
