Ahau Tulum sits on the beach road through Tulum's hotel zone, a narrow strip where cabana properties share one sandy lane. Your driver meets you inside Cancún International Airport arrivals holding a sign with your name, then takes Highway 307 south, 118 km and about 105 minutes to the door. That last part of the trip is what catches people out. Signage on the beach road is thin, the buildings sit back behind palms, and after dark one small gate looks much like the next. A driver who has run this road before goes straight to the property instead of circling. The car is yours alone, with no other pickups on the way and no stop at another hotel.
